15 Companies That Might Not Survive 2009

With consumers shutting their wallets and corporate revenues plunging, the business landscape may start to resemble a graveyard in 2009. Household names like Circuit City and Linens 'n Things have already perished. And chances are, those bankruptcies were just an early warning sign of a much broader epidemic.

Moody's Investors Service, for instance, predicts that the default rate on corporate bonds - which foretells bankruptcies - will be three times higher in 2009 than in 2008, and 15 times higher than in 2007. That could equate to 25 significant bankruptcies per month.

We examined ratings from Moody's and data from other sources to develop a short list of potential victims that ought to be familiar to most consumers. Many of these firms are in industries directly hit by the slowdown in consumer spending, such as retail, automotive, housing and entertainment.

But there are other common threads. Most of these firms have limited cash for a rainy day, and a lot of debt, with large interest payments due over the next year. In ordinary times, it might not be so hard to refinance loans, or get new ones, to help keep the cash flowing. But in an acute credit crunch it's a different story, and at companies where sales are down and going lower, skittish lenders may refuse to grant any more credit. It's a terrible time to be cash-poor.

That's why Moody's assigns most of these firms its lowest rating for short-term liquidity. And all the firms on this list have long-term debt that Moody's rates Caa or lower, which means the borrower is considered at least a "very high" credit risk.

Once a company defaults on its debt, or fails to make a payment, the next step is usually a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Some firms continue to operate while in Chapter 11, retaining many of their employees. Those firms often shed debt, restructure, and emerge from bankruptcy as healthier companies.

But it takes fresh financing to do that, and with money scarce, more bankrupt firms than usual are likely to liquidate - like Circuit City. That's why corporate failures are likely to be a major drag on the economy in 2009: In a liquidation, the entire workforce often gets axed, with little or no severance. That will only add to unemployment, which could hit 9 or even 10 percent by the end of the year.

It's possible that none of the firms on this list will liquidate, or even declare Chapter 11. Some may come up with unexpected revenue or creative financing that helps avert bankruptcy, while others could be purchased in whole or in part by creditors or other investors. But one way or another, the following 15 firms will probably look a lot different a year from now than they do today:

Rite Aid. (Ticker symbol: RAD; about 100,000 employees; 1-year stock-price decline: 92%). This drugstore chain tried to boost its performance by acquiring competitors Brooks and Eckerd in 2007. But there have been some nasty side effects, like a huge debt load that makes it the most leveraged drugstore chain in the U.S., according to Zacks Equity Research. That big retail investment came just as megadiscounter Wal-Mart was starting to sell prescription drugs, and consumers were starting to cut bank on spending. Management has twice lowered its outlook for 2009. Prognosis: Mounting losses, with no turnaround in sight.

Claire's Stores. (Privately owned; about 18,000 employees.) Leon Black's once-renowned private-equity firm, the Apollo Group, paid $3.1 billion for this trendy teen-focused accessory store in 2007, when buyout funds were bulging. But cash flow has been negative for much of the past year and analysts believe Claire's is close to defaulting on its debt. A horrible retail outlook for 2009 offers no relief, suggesting Claire's could follow Linens 'n Things - another Apollo purchase - and declare Chapter 11, possibly shuttering all of its 3,000-plus stores.

Chrysler. (Privately owned; about 55,000 employees). It's never a good sign when management insists the company is not going out of business, which is what CEO Bob Nardelli has been doing lately. Of the three Detroit automakers, Chrysler is the most endangered, with a product portfolio that's overreliant on gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs and almost totally devoid of compelling small cars. A recent deal with Fiat seems dubious, since the Italian automaker doesn't have to pony up any money, and Chrysler desperately needs cash. The company is quickly burning through $4 billion in government bailout money, and with car sales down 40 percent from recent peaks, Chrysler may be the weakling that can't cut it in tough times.

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group. (DTG; about 7,000 employees; stock down 95%). This car-rental company is a small player compared to Enterprise, Hertz, and Avis Budget. It's also more reliant on leisure travelers, and therefore more susceptible to a downturn as consumers cut spending. Dollar Thrifty is also closely tied to Chrysler, which supplies 80 percent of its fleet. Moody's predicts that if Chrysler declares Chapter 11, Dollar Thrifty would suffer deeply as well.

Realogy Corp. (Privately owned; about 13,000 employees). It's the biggest real-estate brokerage firm in the country, but that's a bad thing when there are double-digit declines in both sales and prices, as there were in 2009. Realogy, which includes the Coldwell Banker, ERA, and Sotheby's franchises, also carries a high debt load, dating to its purchase by the Apollo Group in 2007 - the very moment when the housing market was starting to invert from a soaring ride into a sickening nosedive. Realogy has been trying to refinance much of its debt, prompting lawsuits. One deal was denied by a judge in December, reducing the firm's already tight wiggle room.

Station Casinos. (Privately owned, about 14,000 employees). Las Vegas has already been creamed by a biblical real-estate bust, and now it may face the loss of its home-grown gambling joints, too. Station - which runs 15 casinos off the strip that cater to locals - recently failed to make a key interest payment, which is often one of the last steps before a Chapter 11 filing. For once, the house seems likely to lose.

Loehmann's Capital Corp. (Privately owned; about 1,500 employees). This clothing chain has the right formula for lean times, offering women's clothing at discount prices. But the consumer pullback is hitting just about every retailer, and Loehmann's has a lot less cash to ride out a drought than competitors like Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. If Loehmann's doesn't get additional financing in 2009 - a dicey proposition, given skyrocketing unemployment and plunging spending - the chain could run out of cash.

Sbarro. (Privately owned; about 5,500 employees). It's not the pizza that's the problem. Many of this chain's 1,100 storefronts are in malls, which is a double whammy: Traffic is down, since consumers have put away their wallets. Sbarro can't really boost revenue by adding a breakfast or late-night menu, like other chains have done. And competitors like Domino's and Pizza Hut have less debt and stronger cash flow, which could intensify pressure on Sbarro as key debt payments come due in 2009.

Six Flags. (SIX; about 30,000 employees; stock down 84%). This theme-park operator has been losing money for several years, and selling off properties to try to pay down debt and get back into the black. But the ride may end prematurely. Moody's expects cash flow to be negative in 2009, and if consumers aren't spending during the peak summer season, that could imperil the company's ability to pay debts coming due later this year and in 2010.

Blockbuster. (BBI; about 60,000 employees; stock down 57%). The video-rental chain has burned cash while trying to figure out how to maximize fees without alienating customers. Its operating income has started to improve just as consumers are cutting back, even on movies. Video stores in general are under pressure as they compete with cable and Internet operators offering the same titles. A key test of Blockbuster's viability will come when two credit lines expire in August. One possible outcome, according to Valueline, is that investors take the company private and then go public again when market conditions are better.

Krispy Kreme. (KKD; about 4,000 employees; stock down 50%). The donuts might be good, but Krispy Kreme overestimated Americans' appetite - and that's saying something. This chain overexpanded during the donut heyday of the 1990s - taking on a lot of debt - and now requires high volumes to meet expenses and interest payments. The company has cut costs and closed underperforming stores, but still hasn't earned an operating profit in three years. And now that consumers are cutting back on everything, such improvements may fail to offset top-line declines, leading Krispy Kreme to seek some kind of relief from lenders over the next year.

Landry's Restaurants. (LNY; about 17,000 employees; stock down 66%). This restaurant chain, which operates Chart House, Rainforest Café, and other eateries, needs $400 million in new financing to finalize a buyout deal dating to last June. If lenders come through, the company should have enough cash to ride out the recession. But at least two banks have already balked, leading to downgrades of the company's debt and the prospect of a cash-flow crunch.

Sirius Satellite Radio. (SIRI - parent company; about 1,000 employees; stock down 96%). The music rocks, but satellite radio has yet to be profitable, and huge contracts for performers like Howard Stern are looking unsustainable. Sirius is one of two satellite-radio services owned by parent company Sirius XM, which was formed when Sirius and XM merged last year. So far, the merger hasn't generated the savings needed to make the company profitable, and Moody's thinks there's a "high likelihood" that Sirius will fail to repay or refinance its debt in 2009. One outcome could be a takeover, at distressed prices, by other firms active in the satellite business.

Trump Entertainment Resorts Holdings. (TRMP; about 9,500 employees; stock down 94%). The casino company made famous by The Donald has received several extensions on interest payments, while it tries to sell at least one of its Atlantic City properties and pay down a stack of debt. But with casino buyers scarce, competition circling, and gamblers nursing their losses from the recession, Trump Entertainment may face long odds of skirting bankruptcy.

BearingPoint. (BGPT; about 16,000 employees; stock down 21%). This Virginia-based consulting firm, spun out of KPMG in 2001, is struggling to solve its own operating problems. The firm has consistently lost money, revenue has been falling, and management stopped issuing earnings guidance in 2008. Stable government contracts generate about 30 percent of the firm's business, but the firm may sell other divisions to help pay off debt. With a key interest payment due in April, management needs to hustle - or devise its own exit strategy.

Preventing Cellular Phone Theft

1. Always have a friend or someone to accompany you- you have a bodyguard and second someone to check if you have all your things (wallet, cellphone, etc)

2. Avoid super crowded places and if you’re going into one like Divisoria its better to bring an old cellphone or not to bring one at all.

3. If you’re a taxi rider or tricycle rider always write the plate number, the name of taxi and possibly the name of the driver and where he garages his taxi for the night.

4. Avoid dark places and places without people as well as those near squatter areas.

5. Keep the phone in silent in crowded places.

6. Keep the phone is a bag as it may slip out of your pants or pocket.

7. There’s an information stored on the phone which you could use to have it blocked by the National Telecommunications Commission- so that you get to block the phone and the SIM.

8. If you could survive going out without the cellularphone then do so.

9. Keep an appointment and list of things to do. So that you get to trace and re-trace your steps in case your drop or forget your phone.

10. Do not leave your phone on your desk at your office. Keep it locked in the drawer or in a safe place.

11. Do not patronize cellularphone stores that do not have proof how they acquired their cellularphones especially if these are SECOND HAND

12. If you’re a victim do prosecute the thief and bring him to the point he or she goes behind bars. The problem with some victims is that they settle out of court thus the illicit activity goes on unabated.

13. Do not allow children to go around the neighborhood or community with a cellphone. You are not only endangering the child you could also give the child a traumatic experience.

14. Report cellularphone theft as soon as possible to the police/NBI/NTC.

Nokia bows touchscreen 5800 XpressMusic

Armed with a roomy touch display, stereo speakers, and—eventually—a year's worth of free music, Nokia's long-awaited touchscreen phone (formerly known as "The Tube") will make its debut in London today. Can it compete with the iPhone and T-Mobile's Google-powered G1?

First, let's cover the specs: Measuring 4.4 by 2 by 0.6 inches, the 3G- and Wi-Fi-enabled 5800 (set for global release by the end of the year, but not in North America until the "early part" of 2009) is more or less the same size as the iPhone 3G and the G1, although at 3.8 ounces, it's significantly lighter than both of its touchscreen competitors (the iPhone is about 4.8 ounces, while the G1 weighs in at a hefty 5.6 ounces).

So, how's the 5800's 3.2-inch touchscreeen? I haven't had a chance to try it in person, but the Symbian-powered display looks (from the press images, at least) reasonably sleek—somewhere between the clunkier interface on the G1 and the iPhone's eye-popping UI. No multitouch (so no "pinch"-type gestures), mind you, but the 5800 has an accelerometer that lets you turn the phone sideways for a virtual, landscape-oriented QWERTY keypad. You'll also be able to enter text using a half-size, portrait QWERTY keypad (with a stylus, if you like), T9 text prediction, or handwriting recognition.

Nokia promises a couple of key one-touch interface features, including a "Contacts Bar" that gives you quick access to your "favorite" four contacts, along with a "Media Bar" that'll let you tap into your music, videos, and images. Not bad, although I'd also like to see a status/alerts toolbar like the G1's.

As its name implies, the 5800 XpressMusic is more about tunes than productivity, so don't expect out-of-the-box support for BlackBerry or Exchange servers (although this being a Symbian phone, there's nothing stopping third parties from filling the void). Instead, the 5800 comes with stereo speakers, support for stereo Bluetooth headsets, a 3.5mm headset jack (which doubles as a TV-out port), and up to 16GB of microSD memeory expansion for your tunes.

The 5800 will also support Nokia's much-touted "Comes with Music" service, which will let you download all the free tunes you can stand—but just for 12 months, with a helping of DRM on the side. (CNET has details on all the restrictions right here.) Also, keep in mind that the cost of all those "free" tunes will be passed along via an inflated price tag for upcoming "Comes with Music" handsets (the Nokia N95 and 5310 XpressMusic phones will also be getting "Comes with Music" support), although Nokia reps didn't have details on how big the surcharge will be. Still, the music catalog looks to be pretty solid, with all four of the major labels (as well as some indies) signed on.

Back to the 5800 itself: The phone also comes with a 3.2MP camera, complete with Carl Zeiss optics, a dual LED flash, and video recording (up to 30fps). GPS and Nokia Maps are included for navigation. Sorry, gamers—no N-Gage support on the 5800, at least for now.

Nokia hasn't released U.S. pricing details—or carriers, if any—for the 5800 yet. (Since the 5800 is a GSM handset, it'll only work with GSM-based carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile.) In Europe, however, the phone (minus "Comes with Music," for now) will sell for 279 euros, or about US$385—not bad, considering the sky-high price tag of Nokia's N-series beauties.

How does the 5800 XpressMusic stack up with the iPhone and the G1? Well, hard to say until I see the phone itself in action—and especially whether the 5800's touch interface measures up to the two touch heavyweights.

My initial impression? I'm a bit underwhelmed, frankly; it's almost as if Nokia is wading cautiosly into the touchscreen pool with the 5800. What I'm really waiting for is a full-on, touchscreen Nseries handset, complete with a revamped interface designed specifically for touch. In any case, I'm reserving any final judgement until I get an actual unit in for review. (Update: Gizmodo just published a quick hands-on report, and so far, the touchscreen sounds pretty lackluster: "On the prototype we played with briefly, it's much harder to get touches to register, and far less accurate than the iPhone's capacitive screens. The 5800 packs a built-in stylus for this reason—you'll be using it a lot." Ouch.)

MANILA, Philippines -- (UPDATE4) The Eraserheads Reunion Concert was cut short Saturday night after lead singer Ely Buendia was rushed to the Makati Medical Center due to overfatigue.

Reports indicate that Buendia is now in stable condition.

The concert's sudden end was announced by Buendia's sister who went onstage after a 20-minute intermission of the planned 30-song concert.

Raimund Marasigan also came out onstage, followed by Marcus Adoro and Buddy Zabala who assisted Buendia's sister in announcing that the concert would no longer continue. They asked for prayers for the band's lead singer and songwriter.

According to Jing Garcia, former music journalist and currently technology editor at Manila Times and a friend of the members of the Eraserheads, Buendia collapsed backstage after singing "Fruitcake," the last song before the intermission.

"He sat onstage after singing Fruitcake. The audience thought he was acting," Garcia told INQUIRER.net, quoting the concert's organizers.

Buendia has suffered a heart attack in the past and has undergone surgery.

The band members apologized to the audience for cutting short the reunion concert.

The concert, which was staged at the Fort Bonifacio Global City open field in Taguig, started at around 8:15 p.m. and stopped for a break at around 9:30 p.m.

MTV Philippines' Francis Lumen eventually went onstage to ask the audience for a minute of silence.

The Eraserheads opened their much-awaited reunion concert with their usual high energy level, opening with the songs "Alapaap" and then "Ligaya."

As of press time, fans are still at the open field waiting for further developments.

Hehehehehe it was quite sometime na hindi na kami nagkakausap ng ganito with the band. Well not as complete, pero I just miss the old days.

Hindi ko alam kung tumatanda na kami or when we talk about ESTRUS per se ang light lang ng usapan, puro recall, reminisce at yung linya na “alam mo nung college”, funny as it may sound pero I was touched by the two bugoks a while ago (hello? Hindi ko ito ibloblog pag wala lang). Eto yung mga tao na when it comes to talking about things, seryoso na hindi, I mean, we talk about things na hindi mo aakalain mapaguusapan ( the mushy stuff) and the kalokohan as always. Years have passed since the band was established, and in fairness nagpalit na ng members, nagrotate na ang roles, wala padin pinagbago, same old Estrus (in a good way). Sakin I’ve discovered something today, ang swerte ko to have five men who treats me as someone na special (tama ba??) aside from of course their manager (ultimate nanay daw!) they really appreciate everything, uber ko yun naramdaman kagabi waaaahhh!! or dahil nakainom lang ako??? (akin ang food, sorry wala ako sa jam) hahahha!!. Na-touch ako sobra nung we were talking about our dreams and about what have we pursued during the past years. This was the only time ive heard, na Manoy (Karl) specifically believed in whatever I did and im doing. Thank you Tsong! Salamat kasi you ointed out some things na minsan needs to be reminded din sa part ko. To Tatay who appreciated yung mga shots ko, thank you! Tska yung mga BioSoc concert moments natin haha!! tama ka! buti nalang ikaw ang presidente kundi giba din ang pangarap ng Docu nun :D hindi ko talaga makakalimutan ang time na yun! (STRONG tayo I MISS DOCU tuloy!!!) It meant a lot coming from one of my few good friends. Yan ang Estrus family. (Sid and Pao eto ang namiss niyo!, asan na ulit si Jboi?). Tapos, pinagusapan pa ang mga hinanakit sa buhay, mapa saan man haha! (di bale tatay SIKAT ka naman eh!, jacket ko ha, GRAND MASTER...)

Its been years since the band had the inuman sessions after every gig, pero this was the only time na super na-happy ako, besides siguro na mas matino na ang usapan namin, iisa lang ang alam ko, iisa lang ang laman ng puso namin, na hindi naming bibitawan ang band whatever happens. I just wish for more inuman sessions and more gigs. (yeah uminom ulit ako! And well ang Alcohol Dehydrogenase ko is not working well na) mabagal na metab ko, so in short madali akong nasenglot! (salamat sa rhumcoke Karl!, for the record nilibre niya ako! waheehehehe!)

Like what I’ve said to Tatay, I miss the amoy ng yosi stuck in my hair + the beer (rhumcoke nalang), the late and uwi este umagang uwi and the neverending talks. Hays… sana more to come. And daming plans! Pero one step at a time. Recording muna tayo then photoshoot, after sunod sunod na. Walang pangarap na hindi natutupad. Kung ang Parokya ni Edgar started as as block band sa Ateneo tama ba? kaya din natin yun. Actually yan ang pangarap ko for the band, na forever tayo as one family, magtugtog para sa musika. :D

Sa susunod na tambay pwedeng wag majors ha?? hahaha!!

after much ado. the eraserheads concert is most definitely pushing
through.

philip morris and its brands have pulled out from the concert. but
another company is taking over the production. the turn over started
yesterday and they have already started work on the site in the fort.
so you can check.

there are good news and bad news.

unfortunately its no longer free. all the long winded registration
procedures in the red nation site is now void.

the good news is that the age limit is now 12 years old (for safety
reasons)and tickets will be sold so you dont have to wait for
confirmation and what not.

the official announcement and ticketing details will come out in major
newspapers and on the radio on tuesday.

these are the only details i know for now so no need to email me. im
just the drummer.

btw. i just got home from the last rehearsal. the band is cooking. we

Have you accidentally formated your memory card?? SAKLAP anu?? now here's a solution, try niyo muna ito before paying someone to recover your photos for you.

- ito ang uri ng photographer na nakapose na ang modelo pero bago pindutin ang shutter button ay kung ano-anong settings pa ang pinaglalalagay sa dSLR nya... from shutter speed to lens length... kahit prime na yung lens nya at sakto, papalitan nya kasi parang may mali... nagbobokeh pa para lang makuha yung gustong epek... resulta... ngawit na ang model...

Like what i've said before, FAITH will always save me. I LOVE PAPA JESUS, He really loves to surprise me!! (the fact that suprises hate me!!) Things got jeopardized for the past week but still i kept holding on.I never lost hope but i had nightmares (lots of them) at the back of my head. Today, i want to SHOUT OUT to the world how much i LOVE THE SAVIOUR. He never fails.

Like the GOSPEL yesterday "I am the way, the truth and the life" so let it be. Let him lay his plans for you. He knows best.

NOSEBLEEEEED!!!

1st Miracle:

I asked for a sign. F*CK hirap ng exam . Kelan ba naging madali ang PHARMA di ba?? Pagbaba ko sa lobby, Nakita ko si Doc. Reyes, pagakyat ko ng Marian, nakausap ko si Doc. Cruz, and ang isa sa mga ultimate sign, makita man lang yung isang tao na least expected ko na makita. GUESS WHAT? He saw me actually (hoy MELLE!) yan pa ang linya niya kasi i was really BANGAG (read) i just smiled. Sabi ko sa sarili ko KAPIT LANG. (tae kinakabog na talaga dibdib ko sa kaba). Kamusta, ang lakas din ng trip ni Reg, halos madrain at mag syncope ako nung tinext ako ng Sorry Melle... (waaahhhhh benta benta!!)

2nd Miracle:

I didn't expect my Sister JULIE to suprise me today. It was really a hard day's work (first day ng OJT niya) pero she had the time to squeeze in a suprise. She gave me a ROSARY. Natulala nalang ako. I was overwhelmed. LORD thank you for giving me a SISTER. THANK YOU. Hanggang nung napuna ni Lulu na "Sugar ang ganda" startled padin ako...sobra...
3rd Miracle:
I PASSED PHARMA!! Salamat sa isang linggo ng puyat, Nesvita, Kape at telebabad sa Telepono, kay Kambal sa pagpupush sa aking limits, kay Tor na hindi nagsawang kulitin ako at pagsabihan ako na matulog ng maaga, kay Alex at Julie na never never nag-give up sakin (kahit pasaway na ako) at sa love na sobra sobrang nakukuha ko mula sa kanila, sa GLEEPOLS, TIRADORS, BAND, FRIENDS and FAMILY na nadyan parati. THANK YOU!!! We won the fight!!

Always buying sneakers? It's the sign of a leader: poll

Got a passion for buying sneakers? It could be a good sign, with a poll finding that people who buy three pairs of sneakers or more a year are far more likely to be a leadership type that other people.

Mindset Media, a media company that examines personality traits of different consumers, found that people who buy more than three pairs of sneakers a year are 61 percent more likely to have the qualities of a modern leader.

These qualities were defined as having ideas and vision, and a style with others that is both inclusive and decisive.

The survey of 7,500 people, using market research group Nielsen's online panel, found multi-sneaker buyers were 50 percent more likely to be very assertive and 47 percent more likely to be spontaneous.

Lauren Arvonio, a spokeswoman for Mindset Media, said sneaker buyers were more likely to fly by the seat of their pants.

"It is often said you can tell a lot about a person by the shoes they wear, and now we have some hard data to back that up," Arvonio told Reuters.

"What is interesting is that these personality traits held true across the board, regardless of age, income, or gender."

Previous Mindset Media surveys found that people who pay their credit card bills off each month were more likely to be "highly deliberate," thinking through their actions, but also less modest than others, likely to brag about their habits.

Hybrid car owners were found to be 78 percent more likely to be highly creative than other people and less dogmatic.

A real photographer are not those only who have PRO Accounts in Flickr, nor those who just own an expensive DSLR and lenses.

A real photographer is not measured by how many of your photos appear in the Explore page of Flickr. It appears there simply because Flickr wants you to stay and maintain a PRO account with them.

A real photographer are not those who study photography, nor those who did not study at all.

A real photographer does not rely on his expensive cameras to capture a good photo. His camera whether it’s the cheapest disposable camera or the Mark III are only an extension of his mind. He start to see a good photo not from the viewfinder but from his imagination.

A real photographer is not bound by photography rules. He is willing to jump outside the box of photography rules and make his originality.

A real photographer does not depend on good locations to photoshoot to have good photos. For him every place where he stand is the best location.

A real photographer does not depend on expensive Speedlights to capture good toned, shadowed pictures, but knows that nature has already provided him the best lighting.

A real photographer knows that he has to shoot thousands of photographs to have a handful of good shots.

A real photographer is not deceived by camera manufacturer’s glittering ads that their CAMERAS are the best.

A real photographer does not get flattered when someone appreciates his work, but was very happy when somebody criticizes his work as for him this is an opportunity for improvement.

A real photographer spends most of his time to appreciate the works of others than his own.

A real photographer knows that the best camera ever created was the EYES. Every person who has a pair of good eyes owns the best camera in the universe.

A real photographer does not brag, and does not expect his work to be appreciated by others, as he do photography as his soul. He is ashamed to show his soul and only obliged to show it to a few privileged person whom he know more.

A real photographer feel awkward brandishing a big DSLR and long lenses and still dream that technology could shrunk DSLR like a matchbox.

A real photographer does not care discussing the best models of cameras in the market rather he practice his skill on what he has, not what he dreamed to buy.

A real photographer appreciates technology advancement on newer camera models, but still rely on experience as the best teacher in honing his skills.

Bedtime Snacks that Help You Sleep

One of the best natural sedatives is tryptophan, an amino acid component of many plant and animal proteins.
Tryptophan is one of the ingredients necessary for the body to make serotonin, the neurotransmitter best known for creating feelings of calm, and for making you sleepy.
However, the trick is to combine foods that have some tryptophan with ample carbohydrate. That’s because in order for insomnia-busting tryptophan to work, it has to make its way to the brain.
Unfortunately, all amino acids compete for transport to the brain. When you add carbs, they cause the release of insulin, which takes the competing amino acids and incorporates them into muscle…but leaves tryptophan alone, so it can make its way to the brain, be converted to serotonin, and cause sleepiness.
Serotonin-producing bedtime snacks should be no more than 200 calories and should be eaten at least 30 minutes prior to bed.
Here are a few great ideas:

--6-8 oz container of non-fat, flavored yogurt topped with 2 tablespoons low-fat granola cereal
--Sliced apple with 1-2 teaspoons natural peanut butter

My Hun knows when to surprise people and well it was a yearly tradition that my Hun gives flowers to all his closest friends w/c includes me every valentine's day, but this year? he gave me CHOCOLATES!!! Your Body Can Burn Fat on Its Own

Wouldn’t you just love it if your body decided to burn fat and calories on its own?

It can:
1. Exercise in short, intense bursts (interval training) for effective fat burning after exercise.
2. Increase the amount of resistance/strength/weight training you do, to build more lean muscle. Muscle is ‘metabolically active’ and burns more calories than other body tissue even when you’re not moving.
And of course, for best results:
3. Chill on the amount of food you are eating.

Technically:
1. Our bodies are built to survive, so when you exercise for long periods of time (often and consistently) your body thinks it needs to hold on to fat for energy. Doing short (12-15 minute), intense exercise sessions builds strength and burns calories, but not fat, so it “feels safe” using fat stores for energy after exercise.
2. Resistance training (using extra weight) helps build lean muscle mass (and strong bones), and muscle burns more calories than fat.
3. If you are obsessing over things like fat grams and not eating a nutritious diet, your body will reserve energy (store fat) to survive.

Realistically:
1. Varying your exercise is the most effective and efficient way to stay lean and healthy. You must do some longer exercise to build cardiovascular endurance, burn lots of calories, and yes, even burn fat during exercise - your body will not click in to “save” mode unless you exercise for long periods of time, regularly and often.
2. You must do resistance training in order to build muscle and strong bones.
3. Nobody wants to exercise more - and we don’t want to train our bodies to need more exercise to stay fit. So exercise efficiently – two short, very intense (relative to your level of fitness) training sessions weekly, like a 15-minute fast run/walk or fast cycling sprint intervals, and two moderately long, moderately intense sessions (30-45 minutes) of strong walking, cycling, or yoga, with one long day (60-90 minutes) of a moderately paced walk/hike. That’s a great five-day/week training schedule.
4. Instead of adding more days to your workout schedule, add a weighted vest to your training. I have said this before, but this is the most efficient way that I know of to build muscle while burning calories. For more information, go to http://www.walkvest.com/.
5. Eat moderately - stop counting fat grams and calories and look at how much food is on your plate! And eat more nutritiously by eating foods that are natural and unprocessed.

I messed up my blogger layout, it was my layout since i've started blogging (5 years ago). I added some html codes and deleted some. When i saved it then viewed it again i cant access my entries but i can see the background. Im currently using another template but im not satisfied. Im sooooooooo pissed (i was even teary-eyed because of frustration) and i want my template back but im not good w/ html codes. NEW YORK - Want an autograph from Johnny Depp? Chances are, he'll sign something for you and not be a jerk about it.
The 44-year-old actor is the most gracious celebrity for the third year in a row on Autograph magazine's annual list of the "10 Best and 10 Worst Hollywood Signers."
Depp is "'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' on film, and Johnny and the Signing Factory in person," the magazine said.
"Though soft-spoken and laid-back, he likes to talk to fans and get to know them while signing," New York autograph dealer Anthony Risi explains in the December issue, now on newsstands. "He'll sign more than one item when he has time, too."
The magazine said editors compiled input from autograph-collecting judges based in Europe, New York and California in ranking the celebs.
Matt Damon is second on the list, followed by George Clooney, Jack Nicholson, Rosario Dawson, John Travolta, Katherine Heigl, Jay Leno, Dakota Fanning and Russell Crowe wait, Russell Crowe?
Crowe, who has a history of throwing temper tantrums, ranked among the worst signers on last year's list. But in a turnaround, the magazine said, the 43-year-old actor "started treating fans great, signing, taking pictures and chatting them up."
Will Ferrell is deemed the worst celebrity signer, followed by Tobey Maguire, Joaquin Phoenix, William Shatner, Renee Zellweger, John Malkovich, Julie Andrews, Bruce Willis, Teri Hatcher and Scarlett Johansson.
However, "keep in mind that even the best signers don't sign sometimes, the worst sometimes do, and that just because they're on the worst list doesn't mean they're bad people," the magazine said.

...sobrang bilis ng panahon...as in! ewan ko ba...
...four years ago, i a fresh graduate high school student, was falling in line infront of UST main building to submit my credentials for college admission and now, i am falling in line again to get my credentials back to apply for med school (which is until now i am soooo uncertain)... and still i can't believe it was really damn fast!...

...for the past month, i've met new people, a whole lot of great friends and for that sometimes i ask "why only now?" and that question also goes with all the events that happened for the past month...

...for the past month, i also learned a lot of lessons and that really changed me and taught me to be of "the real me"...

...well...tama na muna ang DRAMA kasi mamaya pa yan...here's my update...(Wow i missed this so much...i have a lot to tell you...and naku...update galore ako! hehe)

....after three semesters of hard work....(and i mean it)...the H. semperi group (that's our group) made it to the first batch of thesis defense...i cant believe it...for one reason, it going to be a stepping stone for a POSTER for science week...at first...i cant imagine that we really made it...

TIMELINE GALORE:

Monday: Final Editing of draft and final printing of the Thesis...

Tuesday: Submission of Final Thesis

Wednesday: Supposed to be mock defense, sit down discussion with adviser

Thursday: The BIG DAY! each of us had roles in the thesis, Toni had the Intro and Results and discussions, KC on the Results and Discussions, and for Me, Methodology, Conclusion and Recommendation....

...The PANEL... Ms. Alicia Ely-Pagulayan, Mr. Donald Afan and Mr. Rey Donne Papa...yeah...lemme scream...star studded!

...15 minutes of anxiety...we presented the study...followed by 15 minutes of questions...

...VOILA! only suggestions...like, place this, change that, add this, and clarify this...but the best thing is that...only our group became the most entertained group and most "makulit" presentation of all...here's why..

...after one excruciating year of planning and contacting bands, at last the dream became a reality, "SIBOL" the Biology Society concert became successful and indeed it was once in a lifetime experience...let me recall all the excruciating days...

...We the BioSoc Documentation committee had a blast planning our projects...indeed the concert was a dream...we thought i was one of the wildest dreams ever and as Tricia quoted "suntok sa buwan yan!"...

...BioSoc LTS...the proposal was presented to all the officers everyone was overwhelmed...but most of the officers negated with the idea..."mahirap yan...matrabaho"

...First major DOCU meeting, had the PRO's and CON'S of the concert...decided to push it through its limits...

...two days before opening of classes, I met HALE in a Mayrics gig...got Rusell's number and contacted them regarding their booking...they were initially part of the Line Up...

...First Saturday during the opening...met Ferdie, the PA of HALE, talked to him regarding the plans...he proposed a plan...we agreed...main band was HALE...

...Contacted other bands like, PARAMITA, MATILDA and SAYDIE...they are part of the line up...

...Friday, June 17, got hold of MOJOFLY's album NOW, texted Karin Araneta and inquired about their bookings...she proposed a great and cool performance deal...MOJOFLY is now part of the line up...

...June 18 Fete dela Musique at El Pueblo...met HALE and Russell then, fortunately, MOJOFLY is performing...met them too, got to talk to Karin formally. Met the band too...they were awesome!

...Prepared the draft of letters and project proposals needed for the concert...it was indeed very stressful...

...got stagnant for a month...bioquartz was released...

...got the energy to continue the project...letters were edited, then edited, then edited, then approved...

...It's been a while...ive been so quiet, been so busy and been so pre-occupied with things that i forgot "hey...there's still left for me..."

...my recent posts were not as relevant as now...i think...hmmm...for one thing, it was only an advertisment about ESTRUS...well im going to share everything...lolz!

...it was really stressful for the entire month of November, things were getting complicated than i expected, special classes were indeed special and people made me indeed go bersek over a lot of things, but one thing's for sure...im going to get thorugh all of those things...

...funny it seems that time really had gone so fast! ive completed my starbucks stamps! I HAVE THE PLANNER! and voila...nearly all the barristas at Starbucks SM NORTH are my friends (close ones at least)...lemme mention them, first was the baritone voiced VINCENT, then our salad bowl, APPLE and CHERRY, the so and very sweet CAY, the two naughty ones JIGS and JOHN MARK, the silent MARK and the very accomodating JOAN...wow! "Peppermint hot chocolate for melle!"

wow...i missed this place...my so-called humble abode...its been a while since ive posted and well here i am again updating my so-called life...walang kwenta...sem break was no break for me...no questions asked...the worst...UST College of Science Enrollment was a nightmare...argh! Can you imagine wasting your time falling in line for 7 hours just for a mere encoding of subjects...oh come on! people can't you do better than that? more computers and encoders??? well...it went well as usual...after enrollment we (Kay, Julius, Shanta, Paeng and Harold) headed for the bestest road,laugh,food and mall trip ever...haha..it was very stress relieving...for once i again heard myself laugh to my heart's extent. I and Kay bought a shirt and i already found the bestest bolero/jacket ever! I LOVE BAYO...well...what else...i planning to go back for the tank top and shirt and ok expenses are really killing me these days...haha...we got home tired and happy and really contented...

...this week had been very STRESSFUL for us 4Th year BIO students, for 1 MAIN reason...we need to pass all our subjects no matter what, but nevertheless as days passed by, we SURVIVED we are just waiting for the final judgement from our professors..please HAVE MERCY, i believe each of us have done our best, putting our best foot forward, reviewing from 9pm until the next day where the sun is shinning angrily at us...
...for me, i had been always on-the-go fixing different stuff for our DROSOPHILA! argh! then our THESIS...man i cant wait till our papers are done, then the concert...sana naman wla ng pasaway...(dami kasing ka-artehan eh, papers here and there!) then, bearing the pain of having migraine and insommia...argh! then waking up one morning just wondering why in the name of the Holy Ghost that i have a fever...ok...then worse...we PLANNED for so long to watch CORPSE BRIDE and voila! wow...a week had passed...and honestly...everything has come into place...

Melle is, first and foremost, a walking eukaryotic paradox. She thinks faster than she writes, and gets to edit her thoughts at the same time. She has a soft spot for the wild and unexpected. Melle is spontaneous and fleeting-almost-fairly-like yet remains grounded and in control of everything she does.

Melle has a distinct aura that lest you know it’s her even from a far. Her lively voice and hyper mood will get you going and join with her bright mood.

Tired and weary from hard work and study (or so she’d like to think), Melle is still certain to spend time with similarly stressed-out friends and family trying her best to squeeze out even the smallest hints of smile from them. Evident from her singing is her undying passion for music. She is, within herself, her own band. She also has a wide collection of CD’s-NO TO PIRACY is her motto. Moreover, Melle has an unbelievable eye for photography, for that she can’t survive w/o her precious camera. Add to that her circle of similarly talented friends, it is no wonder that Melle strives as hard to hone her craft.

Melle’s lust for life, love and friendship is contagious to no extent.

Melle is a doctor on her way. (She will perhaps sideline as a band photographer or may land a job at National Geographic Magazine).

...Melle is my faerie. She is someone who goes home everyday tired from all the hard work she has done learning, studying, and helping; yet she spends a lot of time for her band and most especially for her friends. Although stressed when she comes from school, she goes back the next day with a lot of energy in order to learn and be able to help. Faerie is a very beautiful and sweet person. She has love for music and also has great talent in it. She also is the best bestfriend you can ever have, she is someone who will always be there for you no matter what and will do everything she can to make you happy. Her words and company have helped many people. She has always been there for me, always. Always willing to help no matter what mood she’s in and she’s willing to change herself for others. Sometimes, she forgets herself for the sake of others and is being too hard on herself, please help her when you can, even if it’s a small thing ok? She deserves a lot of love! She is an excellent person who strives for excellence. That’s my faerie! Hey if you don’t believe what I’m saying, just meet her and make friends with her and find out what a wonderful person she is ok? ...

july 13-17

...well enough...i was suffering from sore throat but still that didnt prevented me from attending the conspiracy gig... i have 3 reasons...

1. its only a few kilometers away...
2. i can take great shots of the band (the light was great)
3. we (paramita gang) get to bond longer

...FRIDAY: bigskymind gig... it started late and we left early...yeah...something's new...well, we (tingtang, ace, aida and rachelle) took off at around 12:30, dropped by yellow cab then they (thank GOD) dropped me off...unfortunately, the battery of "bubs" their car gave up and (thank GOD) they had a sleepover at my place...(sleepover nga ba?), we really had a great time talking about stuff...anything under the sun...

...we had a short meeting and afterwhich i met one of my super missed friends...

...still sleepy, but attended mass...

july 18-23

...big test...holy cow exam!...at least im near the passing score...that sucks coz i really studied for that test...

...hear me out... I PASSED my first embryo lec exam...cheers!

...graduation fees are far worse than i expected...mahal tae!

...i dont want to remember this week...(STRESSFUL, JINXED and CURSED)

lemme give you a detailed event at 6underground gig:

...i asked Kay (Cabral) to join me this time at 6underground gig...the good thing was..CLASSES were SUSPENDED this coming monday...so we have the reason to stay as late as we could...

...we met up with Gretch..a new friend of mine...one of Paramita listers...and one hell of a cool person to be with, not to mention, we had the same hobbies and frustrations and we're like literally good friends (magkasundo sa lahat ng bagay)... we had a great time discussing stuff until we reach 6underground which is literally underground...haha (that was my first time)...

The place: it was great, the lights was great, even the walls were hand painted, and everything was perfect for a gig place...one thing...FIX that DAMN door!

Technicals: in need of TECHS?? i am open for sideline...(BAGAL niyo kumilos!)...mga wla pang alam sa tech...tanga amp!

FOOD and DRINK: perfect wla akong masabi...

...the Paramita Gang was complete...sort of, andami din guests...sana wla akong makalimutan (Melle, Shine, Ja, Patty, Rowi, Noreen, Gretch, Tin, Ace, Tingtang, Aida, Kay, Albert, [the band] Ate Ria, Normz and Alsey and ahem Bamba...Ace's little doggie)...we had also the matching attendance...

...im not sure with the line-up but, Sandwich and Sundownmuse played...and i really enjoyed it, enjoyed drinking beer for the first time which was really uncommon for me...GALIT SA AKIN ANG BEER!

...most of the people were drunk if not tipsy, we got home almost 3:00 am and still i and kay had nice chat discussing things and i totally forgot that we had a meeting that morning...

...i was late and it was my fault...

...i and our barkada met up to celebrate macky's birthday...we really had a lot of fun we watched HERBIE, a movie about a Volkswagen who can feel (nah!) and he's a racecar...nice story...

...got home..slept and woke up really late the following morning...

...well, saved from boredom, i was invited by Gretch to join her and her mom at makati, (nahiya ako sobra)...but when i met her mom, aha! she's so cool...hehe...we really had a great time, we watched THE ISLAND na sobrang cool and really and very SCIENTIFIC (eugenics was mentioned)...then we ate dinner, stayed at starbucks for a while, where, i also met normz, who was in the are with his family...

...got home, slept...

...it was a really nice and great weekend...

June 27 (Monday)
...i am sick..literally, i had colds, fever and cough...i dont know what is basically happening with my immune system...it's starting to kill me...embryo lab is not doing any much better to me, slides were a nightmare and i cant even focus because my head was aching...

...L.Hall was...as usual FREEZING...and lecture was boring!

June 28 (Tuesday)
...getting worse...i cant even stand up from my bed...but i tried my best, we did our last snake, our thesis was getting better and better...we were free from genetics so two more lectures to go...

June 29 (Wednesday)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONI...my flu got worse, still attended my classes and in the end it got really worse...we prepared a surprise celebration for our friend, haha...it was really nice and flattering to see her really happy, i did a collage of our pictures and JR prepared food...it was really nice...i was having chills, so i need and really need to get some rest...

June 30 (Thursday)
...went to DENR to meet Tito Robert to fix our grant...we did well, NO genetics again...so fortunately, i was saved from cutting classes...(reason:im sick!)...still attended classes...

July 1 (Friday)
...crammed our genetics lab report, that SUCKS coz i hate cramming...missed our first friday mass...cambio lab was way much better

July 2 (Saturday)
...Videoshoot...people were late as usual, the publication was submitted to the press for printing...had the whole day devoted for studying...

July 3 (Sunday)
...study...more study and then attended mass...it was my first time to drive alone at night...vision was not that clear unlike during daytime...it scared me a little...

July 4 (Monday)
...Embryo Lab practical exam...nightmare...dont remind me of it...

July 5 (Tuesday)
...Boring lectures... and more boring lectures...

July 6 (Wednesday)
...took cool pictures, learned to use the manual settings of the cam...haha...

It's been a week since my last post, the only thing that pisses me off is that sometimes when you are in the gist of your post, then something goes wrong...

Saturday:

"... je n'oublierai jamais cet événement, un événement qui m'a fait la sensation accomplie et heureuse, un événement qui m'a incité à me rendre compte que la musique sera toujours ma vie n'importe ce que... "

Translation:

"...I will never forget this event, an event that made me feel fulfilled and happy, an event that made me realize that music will always be my life no matter what..."

...I've been planning to go to this event for almost a month, I've been praying that this year’s fete would not be as soaked as last years' (that was their description)...and you might want to kill me that day because I was asking the Lord to let the sun shine with all his might so that people will remember that day not as the soaked one but as one of the most successful event ever...and it was...the heat of the sun started triggering my migraine and killing me...for many reasons whatsoever...

...I and Karla planned to meet at Starbucks so that we both would have company, besides I asked her for some tips in taking good shots...and making good use of my camera...I arrived pretty early that I dropped by Powerbooks one of my favorite places...haha...since my reservation for the Harry Potter book was cancelled, I impulsively bought the illustrated edition of Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, it was pretty expensive but worth it, it was beautiful and the good thing about it was...it was a BOOK!...

...changes were made I and Karla met instead at Powerbooks, and we head off for Podium, the funny thing was, the Stage was placed infront of UCC and near the main entrance of Podium, so the area was pretty small, but it was still great, it was the first band that’s already playing when we arrived...

...Alsey, Paramita's bassist was pretty early too, besides as far as I know, the band’s call time was 4:00 pm and it was already 4. We stayed at UCC and waited for the PARAMITA GANG...well they arrived one by one, Ate Ria, Ces, Ja, Beng, Ad, Yey, Normz, Noreen, and Paulo. I hope I mentioned everyone...we were really enjoying our stay at UCC and even enjoyed playing at the push-button door of the café...haha...two bands were moved to a different timeslot, that also means that Paramita’s set was earlier...

...I was stunned with what I saw the big crowd Jett and also Legz of SilentSanc were also there (man! That violin is killing me!), I was really happy to see them...after a couple of minutes, Paramita started playing, the great thing was, I had the opportunity to take great shots of them, they played 2 cuts and in that 2 cuts, the crowd cheered up, and roared and yelled for more. The feeling was great, I can feel the crowd’s energy, the band’s energy too, I know for sure that Ate Ria, Normz and Alsey was really happy with their performace...(shempre Paramita eh!)...

...after the performance, we had a great time talking and exchanging ideas and stories, I also met the band MOJOFLY, through Karin their manager, the band was really and very accommodating that I also enjoyed being with them, well one of my wishes came true, I get to meet, Ali, their drummer, he was really nice...same with Ricci and LouGee...

...I also and again met HALE at UCC, and thank God the band plus Russell still remembered me...haha...well the Mayrics gig was not that far...for me to be forgotten, and still the band was nice...

...I wanted to go to the Rock stage, unfortunately, it was closed for security reasons, orcs invaded the rock stage and it looked like another Pulp Summer Slam dejavu, so being fed up, we got back to our station (infront of UCC) haha, then waited for more bands to play...

...people are coming from all directions and in order to breathe, we moved to where Ate Ria's car was parked and there we had a great time chatting and talking...indeed we had fun...

...got home around 2:00 am tired but very happy...

Sunday:

...my mom arrived from Vigan and again what’s new she woke me up...early...and very early...well, I aksed her if I could attend my choir and if she would like to join me for the mass...amazingly she said YES!...

...I slept for the entire day...trying not to be pissed off because of some things not going my way...but I think I really need to be pissed off..my car wont start! Hell yeah! My car is not working properly...shoot...damn...what a day!...

...I asked the driver of my tita and his cousin to come over help me resolve things..well..i just need to series the damn batteries…

...get a life and go to sleep!..

Monday:

...Embryo lab was indeed tedious and very tiring…but very interesting...got good shots of our slides...anyweiz our professors were Mr. Rey Papa and Ma’am Gardette Valmonte. They were great profs and besides that they were funny...

...Art appreciation...no professor found...rumors...Ms. Miclat...

...CaMBio...another lesson to be told...and thank God I can follow his discussion and our professor, Mr. Edward Quinto was indeed funny...

Tuesday:

...typical school day…Genetics lec, Ms. Catherine Carson...well she still amazes me on the way she teaches her students...(ang galing!)

...Embryo Lec...Ma’am Alice Pagulayan...she still didn’t change her ways, the same way she taught us Invert but this time she is more enthusiastic...(that’s better)...

...Marriage...new name and a new face.. Sir Arvin Eballo, a prof from AB, he’s funny and well, he speaks his mind (and for that I hate it)...

...EMERGENCY meeting...hell yeah...meeting for BioSoc and I was shocked...I was not even informed beforehand...

Wednesday:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! MS. RIA BAUTISTA...the great and very talented drummer/vocals of PARAMITA! (ilalagay ko sana full name niya kaso baka mapatay ako ni Ate Ria hehe)

...Research talk... and I was really sleepy...cant even absorb what the hell are the topics...for all I care...

...confirmed! Art appreciation Prof was Ms. Miclat...well one thing...she good and funny...

Thursday:

...same old boring class...

...we were dismissed pretty early and for some reasons it rained really hard! I am late for a gig and its raining...I hate it...

...I arrived at the gig place, which was in Libis pretty fast, I waited for TingTang and the rest, but the gig was cancelled.Ate Ria was still in Baguio...Thank God, Normz, Alsey and Yey was there, I also met MJ a friend of mine back at UST, even though the gig was cancelled, I had a great time talking with Normz and Alsey, I also met Noreen’s gang, they were funny...hehe...

...Noreen offered me a ride home and that was really nice...I reached our house around 2:30...it was a great night indeed...

Friday:

...the EB of Documentation Committee had a meeting in order to fix the concert’s beneficiary. Unfortunately the Bantay Kalikasan office was closed during Friday’s and that pissed me off...

...instead of blaming myself for not getting an appointment, we had a hearty lunch at Yellow Cab! Pizza! Wohoo!...I, Tricia and Mark had a great time talking...

...after the meeting I got off for Big R, to buy the stuff I reserved for my friends...

...got home, slept then studied...

Saturday:

...woke up pretty late...then studied again...(nerd) then, I am off to driving, I was accompanied by Kuya Joji, who was kind enough to accompany me...the traffic here in Metro Manila was a nightmare!...

...I had a 3 hrs of continuous driving, from Quezon City to UST then Quiapo, Taft, Buendia, Makati, Osmeña Hi-Way, Sta. Mesa, San Juan, Tomas Morato, EDSA, Diliman, UP ikot, Tandang Sora then finally I got home, really tired…but that was not the fun part...

...as I was listening to NU, the Jay the DJ of the hour was talking, at first I was not paying attention to what he was saying until, "this was text request, by the way the band performed really well in the last Fete dela Musique, Takipsilim by Paramita!" my heart stopped, I was excited to hear the song of the band...I was really happy, then...BLAG! I hit something...a garbage can! Again...haha...well no damage was made to the car, just some scratches in the bumper, but still I am happy...still...happy...

...took a nap and got ready for the Katipunan gig...

...I and Tingtang met at Starbucks, I was tempted to buy a frappe but, since I am really watching the way I am spending I sacrificed not to....we arrive at Ardz just in time for the set. There were technical problems, one, the mic stand was not working properly, secondly, the amps were not cooperating and lastly there’s something wrong with normz' distortion (sabi niya...hindi ko nahalata eh)...I acted as the mic stand...haha...yeah a live one...

...we had a great time talking, as always, everything was discussed and the funny part was...I was already tipsy for two bottles of beer..waahhh...I said so...beer hates me!...

...after the great gig, we joined Ate Ria for quite a ride...haha until Makati...well, that was fine, we enoyed it...

...arrived home around 3:30 am and slept...

Sunday:

...mom called me up at 7:00 am, and for that I hate it, I didn’t answer her call, hello? Just got home and I need to get some sleep...I studied, fixed the grant and did some of my responsibilities pretty well today...and for that I am very contented and happy...

...I think I would be at the Poet’s night in Conspiracy...hope to get there on time...

Thursday:

...first day of school..call time 7:00 am...i cant even believe that i was in UST that early just to accompany the freshmen to their orientation...my head was aching because it was really hot...

...we did our grant...so far so good...

...freshman tour...well what else...people were stressed and pissed off and the sun was angry at us... that it became really hot right when we were doing the tour...ouch!

...we attended our class, but there were no professors...well actually, basically it was the first day...

...i was really drained...

Friday:

...we fixed our grant, and summitted it to our adviser...hopeful that it would be better than our draft haha...

...we had classes...and REGULAR classes... Mr. Rey Papa and Ms. Cecille Banag was our Genetics Lab Prof while Mr. Jojo Castillo and Ms. Ana Refe was our CaMBio Lab professors...indeed i am stressed out yesterday that...well...close topic...

...i enjoyed working and doing something sensible...

Monday:

...Our committee was storming with ideas, i love the feeling where, everyone is pushing their limits, bringing out their hidden talents and capabilities and beginning to realize that they are really extra special...

...WE had a great time discussing things, all about our committee, we were indeed productive, it was great, we talked about the newsletter, and the concert. It was the first time that i saw my colleagues, very eager to contribute ideas. Besides that, the discussion about the concert was a success, i have already established contacts with Paramita, Hale, ChicoSci, Saydie, Twisted Halo and SpongeCola. I need Bamboo and Mojofly and that's it...concert here we come!...

...I helped Tricia fix her condo unit, its great that i was there to help her, after that, she accompanied me to buy some stuff in greehills and had a great time eating...

...I arrived home really tired and already slept...

Tuesday:

...woke up early, but after i fixed my nails, i slept again...

...got off for a 9:00 pm gig at SaGuio, with Paramita...

...really enjoyed and i was really happy to see those guys again...i will really miss them, haha...I, Yey, Ate Ria, Beng, and Rishu had a great time talking and laughing. I really enjoyed the company of those guys...

...One thing more...i discovered the full name of Ate Ria...

...Got home around 2:00, really drained, slept and got ready for the photoshoot the next day..CALL TIME: 9:00 pm...

...Got up late so i was kinda late for the photoshoot. It was great, afterwhich, we ate lunch and i accompanied the sports committee to look for court for their try-outs...haha men these days!..

...i am "me" when i talk to you...

...certified bangag na talaga ako, i arrived home last night, it was really late and i was very tired. but i enjoyed. At this point i feel the stress, pressure and excitement as the school year is going to start. Primarily, because i miss working, im not used to just sitting down doing nothing. Im not a type of person who wants to become a BUM for the rest of her life. I want always to be useful. Secondly, i want to finish this sem...for me, i know this sem is one of the hardest, but GOD will help me...more patience and perseverance, i know i will make it....

...we are going to have a general meeting tomorrow (docu), i hope we will finish everything tommorrow. i just hope...haven't done my article, but who knows cramming works for me a lot, together with procrastination...well, i just hope we distribute the bioquartz on time...

...concert will and should be pushed through, same with the magazine...we just wish, there will be no hindrances that would come our way...

...what is the problem of the people...its really weird...

...i really love talking to you, i just hope ouor friendship will last a lifetime, you are one person i would cherish forever, and thank you for bringing out the best in me, for that, i thank you...

...i am really so tired right now, i didn't make to the gig for two reasons: i can't coz im really tired, just came from a fieldwork and i wont have any company to go with (paramita is not playing)...by the way its the album launch of Saydie.

...well, it paid off, our occular today was a success, it was productive and for the first time i've visited Maragondon, Cavite haha...well, they really need an immediate rehabilitation, well anyways...

...need to go...im really sleepy...

...one thing is for sure...haven't been to the mall for a while hehe...

...i was really productive today, i bought all the stuff i needed for school, everything, and while i was walking, one person called me and it was one of my highschool friends...well its really nice to hear from you...hope you are ok...primarilly, my back was aching but it was ok, i need to finish all the things i need to do, so that at least i can sleep soundly...

...i bought the latest album of Bamboo and Mojofly, both were good...well i expected more from Bamboo, honestly speaking i was not contented, though it was good...same with Mojofly, the album was great too, Ali is really looking good haha!...

...mom's digital BP reader was really expensive...holy cow!...

...i really need to go on field this sat (*sob*)...

...the best days of my life....

tuesday:

...for me, there's one great reason for me not to get pissed off, no lines during enrollment, and it was really damn fast...five minutes then poof! im done, even though our schedule was not great (1:00 pm-7:00pm) still it was ok for me...the only problem im thinking of right now is that...i really need to get up really early for parking...waahhhh...that sucks...well...you need to live with it...because it really sucks..haha..

...well after 3 months of waiting (and couple of weeks), i met my groupmates in thesis (we just saw each other like weeks ago...haha), our former blockmates who were very excited to see me, i dont know why, my present blockmates who were discussing gigskeds and bands...well, music people....again we were really making a lot of noise...NOISE!

...Jett, Rob, Jaes and Jeff saw the Paramita album, if i could just record/shoot/video their reactions, haha, well, they were really amazed, one thing, the album's in-lay and cover was amazing, even ROB couldn't take his eyes off the album (he doesnt like Paramita), Jett on the other hand was reading the credits...he by the way composed/arranged 4 cuts in the album, while Jeff and Jaes just stood there saying "ganda ah!" well...ate ria, normz and alsey...you better read this...hehe...well, its really nice to hear great feedbacks from people, Paula was also startled same with Sha..indeed PARAMITA created their own identity...hehe...till next gig guys!

...i and KC had gone to another adventure...haha...we tried to commute from UST to Makati using Buendia Route...its way much cheaper and faster...(without the traffic of course), my purpose...to buy a Cajon! that's because i might spend the money in other unecessary things so i just thought of already buying one...(sususnod nalang ang drumset pag may pera na...) as usual i and KC had great time, hehe, i saw one Jack Skellington and Sally figurine but it will cost me a fortune...its 1k each, so that would be 2k...damn! if i had the money...grrrr....well, not to mention, i spend so much this day... bought a top to match my bohemian skirt...(sobrang picky talga ako and that sucks!) haha...at least...i will use is as much as i could...

...got a name for my baby! his name is ZERO..haha...

...i arrived home quite early, i called up Mark regarding the Newsletter, Magazine, and Concert afterwhich, i took a nap (a 3 hr nap) haha! waking up at around 8 pm, ate my dinner then connected online, i chated with Normz, Rowi, Patsi and Cae until 2 in the morning...and i tried being friendly to the whattacallit...html haha...i tried editting my blog...well i survived (buhay pa naman ako) ...after everything...i said by goodbyes...i have a meeting the following day...call time 9:00 am...that sucks!

Wednesday:

...9:00 am and counting...people arrived late as usual (i really hate that!), the meeting started at 10:00 am so 1 hour of nonstop chatting and chatting with my co-officers...hehe it was really great we were kinda complete...(himala yun ah!), then people were asking me if its ok to get Hale as one of the band who's going the play for the concert, well i would love to but i couldnt say yes...well..i presented the proposal for the concert, a few comments then it was ok...Rock concert it is! i also talked to our thesis adviser (thank GOD no PMS) haha! well, she advised me to finish all the data before going back to the site (yahoo!) haha...i joined a group of officers for lunch...well, we really had a nice time...eating and talking and eating...i was starving! haha...after eating then off we go...got home and again got some sleep...(certified sleepyhead)

...woke up at around 7:00pm, got ready for a gig, for once, i was with my co-bio people...hehe the line-up...Ramp Queen, SpongeCola, Hale, Chicosci and Ciudad...the line-up itself was a blast! well, not my type of band but my type of music...hehe...i also met Niche and Cham of DeadPan...haha...well, i miss those guys! (Freedom Bar kasi eh!), i also had the oppurtunity to ask the band Hale to sign and i had some personal pics with Champ, Miggy, Ebe and some other people..(napasubo ako!) holy shit! Champ was really nice...well..but their manager SUCKS! haha...im posting some pics so that you can see it...

Thursday:

...i dont really understand where the hell do i get the energy to be online just after every gig...my back is aching (my scolio sucks!) my head is aching (migraine is already killing me) and im not already thinking as good as i think..(nyahaha labo!) haha...well i chatted with normz for a couple of minutes, then i mentioned about our thesis and i suggested to take it as one of his topics, an interactive media...hehe well hope he will like it and the panel will approve the topic...goodluck normz! hehe..(our topic is one of a kind believe me! and its one major breakthrough in science...) bid my goodbye then off i go.

...woke up at around 9:30 am, checked my phone for messages, 1 message recieved: regarding org work..i totally forgot i have a deadline to meet... 1 missed call: unknown-call you later (besides its sun), i was just staring at my PC and before i knew it, i was talking to one of our staff, hehe (out of this world) haha...got online again...certified BUM...then, we ate lunch...

...after lunch, i grabbed my phone, then called 1 missed call: unknown, haha! initially, i kinda recognized his voice but to be sure i need to confirm it..haha it was Kurt, one great friend of mine, the bassist of Saydie, we talked for a couple of minutes...SUN! call and text unlimited haha! (hindi daw ako nagpaparamdam)...well so sorry, hehe...anyways, they are also having an album launch this coming Sat (hope i get home early...going to Cavite for some Org business) shet...its really a pain in the ass to be an officer...

well...this week was really great! cant think of much better...haha...
